Air Wick Odour Detect – Review

Having a busy family running around the house unfortunately usually means a raft of smells lingering around too. Boys running in mud (or worse) after playing football, food smells from the kitchen, or maybe it’s that horrible aroma of wet dog.

Whatever it is the new Air Wick Odour Detect will quickly sniff it out and spray out a special burst of fragrance to combat it.

The Air Wick Odour Detect has three different settings for extra puffs of fragranced air, as well as the sensor detection option. We just let the sensor go to work on it’s own, but it’s good to know that you can customise the settings yourself if you think you require a bit more of that lovely smell.

We have been testing out the Odour Detect for a while now, and I can safely say it really does work, and it works very well. Initally I set the unit up on the windowsill at the top of the landing as I thought from there it would be able to work it’s magic around most of the house. I was right, it set to work straight away puffing out the beautifully smelling air freshener whenever it smelt something not quite right.

The only problem I had with this was that it did it’s job a bit too well and seemed to not stop. It must have been because I placed it in such a high traffic area on the landing, but it seemed to be going all the time.

So after a day or so I decided to move the unit to another area of the house, I put it on the shelves in the conservatory. We found that in it’s new home we were all much happier with the results. Every time you open the conservatory door you get a lovely fresh smell wafting through the house, plus as the conservatory is next to the kitchen I know I can open the doors and let the air circulate around if I’m making an especially smelly curry or something.

We trilled out the compact version of the Air Wick Odour Detect priced at £9.99, which is suitable for smaller rooms like the bathroom but it was plenty powerful enough for us. There is however a max version available for larger rooms which retails at £13.99 for the starter kit.

A highly recommended product for a busy home. Now that i’ve found the perfect home for mine, I wouldn’t be without it.
