Britax B Range – Britax B-Mobile

Part two of my four part review of the new Britax B line of strollers, pushchairs and travel systems. This time round i’m giving the Britax B-Mobile the once over.

First off strangely there are two different versions of the B-Mobile, one three wheel and one four wheel. I find it puzzling that there are two versions of the same model, but I suppose it’s up to your own personnel preference whether you like a 3 or 4 wheel buggy.

I’m wondering if it has anything to do with the old Britax Beep, which was a their last three wheel buggy that looked remarkable like the B-Mobile. I had a lot of problems with the pushchair tipping backwards, and it even tipped sideways as we went round the corner on the bus. A Google search shows problems with the Vigour and Verve too so I wonder if this is why they have taken the 3 or 4 wheel option approach, to put parents minds at rest who may have experienced these problems before.Apart from the number of wheels and the shape of the front, both versions are the same.

Like the B-Dual and B-Smart, the B-Mobile comes with Britax’s Click and Go seat technology. This means that all of Britax’s Baby safe range of car seats easily click onto the chassis, transforming this pushchair into a travel system. If you add the Baby safe sleeper into your package, the B-Mobile will transform into a proper pram. The baby safe sleeper can also be used as a car seat for the your babys first six months.

At 6.4 kg the B-Mobile is extremely lightweight for a pushchair with the features that it boasts. It’s only 0.1KG heavier than Britax’s umbrella fold stroller option the B-Lite, which is very impressive. With it’s compact fold which automatically locks shut to avoid accidental unfolding, the B-mobile is a great option for someone who travels on public transport often or wants a pushchair for taking on holiday, but still wants something with a bit of substance and doesn’t want a bottom of the range basic stroller.

The folding is exactly the same as with my old Britax Beep, and although it does take a bit of getting used to the first few times, it soon becomes second nature. You need to push over the handle bars rather than the usual pushing down, this feels a bit weird but works well.¬†You’ll be plesently surprised how small this big buggy will go once folded up, once the wheels were clicked out it fitted into the tiny boot of our Corsa easily.

Other notable features are the

  • puncture resistant tyres
  • Removable fabric covers (although not machine washable, they can be sponged clean.
  • Ample shopping basket
  • Parent pocket on the hood for keeping keys, phone, change close at hand
  • 2 year manufacturers guarantee

The B-Mobile is available in a range of three colours, Neon Black, Aurora Green and Venetian Red.
